The AWS Class E308HT1-1/T1-4 flux-cored wire is made from an austenitic stainless steel alloy that contains around 18% chromium and 10% nickel, featuring a higher carbon content than standard E308LT wires to ensure strength at elevated temperatures. The weld deposits offer high tensile strength, excellent toughness, and outstanding resistance to oxidation, scaling, and corrosion even at high service temperatures. The flux-cored design promotes stable arc performance, easy slag removal, and consistent bead formation, resulting in durable, high-quality welds that are perfect for high-temperature and moderately corrosive environments.
The E308HT1-1/T1-4 Dual Shield Flux Cored Wire, used with an external shielding gas, offers excellent weldability and low spatter, suitable for out-of-position welding. It is available in diameters from 0.035 to 0.045 inches and provides good corrosion resistance, particularly in chloride-exposed environments.
The E308HT1-1/T1-4 Self-Shielded Flux Cored Wire does not need an external shielding gas, making it ideal for outdoor and windy conditions. Available in 0.035 to 0.045-inch diameters, it offers good penetration, slag coverage, and substantial corrosion resistance for long-lasting welds.
The E308HT1-1/T1-4 Flux Cored Arc Welding Wire is designed for FCAW processes, ensuring a consistent arc and minimal spatter. It comes in diameters from 0.035 to 0.045 inches and provides excellent corrosion resistance, making it suitable for high-deposition rate applications.
