The AWS Class ER347 SAW wire and flux are made from austenitic stainless steel and are stabilized with niobium (Nb) to boost resistance against intergranular corrosion. The ER347 wire features around 18% chromium, 9% nickel, and a hint of niobium, while the flux is designed to ensure stable arc characteristics and effective slag removal. In terms of mechanics, the weld deposits deliver high tensile strength, remarkable toughness, and outstanding resistance to pitting and stress corrosion cracking. The synergy between the wire and flux guarantees robust welds that can withstand long-term use in challenging, high-temperature settings.
