The AWS Class ER317L SAW wire is an austenitic stainless steel alloy that features around 18% chromium, 12% nickel, and 2–3% molybdenum, all while maintaining low carbon content to reduce carbide precipitation. The SAW flux is specifically designed to ensure stable arc performance, effective slag removal, and even weld bead formation. The resulting weld deposits boast high tensile strength, excellent toughness, and outstanding resistance to pitting, stress corrosion cracking, and intergranular corrosion. This combination guarantees long-lasting, high-integrity welds that can handle tough service conditions, including high temperatures and corrosive environments.
