AWS Class ER316/316L SAW wire is an austenitic stainless steel alloy that contains about 18% chromium, 12% nickel, and 2–3% molybdenum, along with low carbon content to avoid carbide precipitation. The flux that accompanies it is specially designed to ensure stable arc performance, effective slag removal, and uniform weld bead formation. In terms of mechanics, ER316/316L weld deposits offer high tensile strength, outstanding toughness, and excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and intergranular corrosion, making them perfect for long-term use in harsh and corrosive settings.
