The AWS Class E309LMo-16 electrodes are made from austenitic stainless steel, featuring around 23% chromium, 13% nickel, and 2–3% molybdenum, with a low carbon content to help prevent intergranular corrosion. These weld deposits are mechanically robust, offering high tensile strength, excellent toughness, and outstanding resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking.
